Best things do belong to the PC.

Instructions:
1) Ignore the title listing PS3, because we all know the PS3 is only capable utlizing physics with Ageia hardware.
2) If you plan on buying the Ageia Physics Hardware, stop! You donot need it.

I don't know where you get your info from but the ps3 doesn't have a ageia ppu in it,it uses havco physics middleware like the rest of the next gen systems.

no need for a separate physics card. all gpu power. heh well a gpu will become a ppu with sli or crossfire. one for graphics , one for physics . expect some amazing games when this tech gets into developer's hands.

Well, a saparate physicscard will help, no use putting all that pressure on the GPU not allowing it to do anything else.

Well so long to the useless Ageia PPU card, just get an SLI rig and who knows, maybe it will utilize the sli config and use one card to process Physics.

Wow, so get an SLI rig, and then you can have one of the video cards do the physics processing instead of working on the actual rendering. Hrrrm... or get an SLI rig, and get a PPU as well, then have both video cards doing what they are supposed to be doing in the rendering area, and let the PPU do the physics processing... astounding!

I always knew that the Ageia physics card was a gimmick destined for failure. I mean, come on, a seperate $300 card to do physics? Sorry, I'll leave it to my CPU.

Ageia physics software for PS3 and 360 is middleware just like Havok is.  It's on PC where there is a physics card involved.

Havok has so far proven to be the best, and I'm not impressed by Ageia, except maybe the extra fluid (air and liquid) effects.  But I'm sure Havok 4.0 will blow Ageia away across all fronts.

Ageia has the potential to boost the system performance somewhat, they just don't. The card is potentially a little bit of relief on your cpu, but the problem is, physics processing requires so little processing power anyways that it's not a big enough performance boost to pay $300 for.

It's like if I could get a 4GHz cpu for $400 or get a 4.1GHz for $700.  I would go with the 4GHz.

Well high level physics like allowed with the Ageia PPU would bog down the CPU, but it's still not worth $300.

Who needs a PPU when multi-core CPUs are becoming standard equipment? Dedicate one core to physics. Problem solved.

..and how do you go about doing that, monkeyboy?  PhysX cards are around $150 bucks nowadays, it's not really a huge expense, besides you can have dual SLi WITH a PhysX card since the Ageia card only needs a PCI slot NOT a PCIe!!! ever thought of that?!

The concept of Ageia was nice, but the majority of developers just ignored it and are going with multi-core cpus since everybody will have one at some point. It's not a *bad* card, it has some pretty amazing capabilities....it was just ignored.

until people can get this by buying one card it just isnt going to work..sli will not go mainstream..
