Have you seen it's current price at stores? 800$ + for GTX1080

So called 600$ is not relevant right now, non reference like the EVGA FTW edition costs 950$

IMO keep your money till price drop, you could get 2x 980Tis or 4x 390s for that kind of money.

I've been keeping an eye on Newegg for availability and here and there founders editions are popping up in stock. Not marked up at all. The Asus, Gigabyte and Zotac were all in stock at one point yesterday.

I'm waiting for an aftermarket design before biting though. Either the MSI or EVGA.

That EVGA classified 1080 is going to be a beast.

@SuperClocks:

I know right. I'm not sure how long I can hold out though. I'm running one 970 right now, sold one to get ready for a 1080, on an Acer 1440p 165hz Predator. I'm hurting for a better card at the moment. A good AIB 1080 can't come soon enough.

It's because all these numpteys are happy to spend $6-700 on a mid-range "reference/Fleece Edtion" GPU, so they sell out and prices go up. Supply and demand 101

Nvidia be like

Worse, Israel, an 1080 cost here 1000$ after taxes, and prices won't go lower than 900$ after a month or so - trust me - damn taxes.

Prices have gone up a little here as well, but it could just be because of wrong pricing to begin with. For some cards at least. I think the rest have stayed the same.
