From what I hear all over the internet, the 580 is the way to go. Can max out most any game on the market without a hitch, so there's that.
NEED HELP PLEASE:
I currently have an nVIDIA 9600 GSO 512MB graphics card and I'm getting a barebones kit that includes an ATI Radeon HD 4250.
I saw that my current graphics card is around #40 on the list, and I didn't see the other one at all; I don't know if that's because it's so bad it's not evn on that huge list or just because it accidentally didn't get added.
If it's the latter, I'm wondering which card is better.
Thanks,

Hey guys,
I am thinking of upgrading my graphics card. I currently have a radeon hd 4850 which has served me happily for the last two years, but it's time for something new. I would like to get a cheap upgrade yet still with a great improvement over my current card. Any suggestions please?
I do not have the money nor the pc for the newest crossfire hi-tech card, so if possible please suggest something on budget :)
Specs will be posted later...
Thanks!

Atleast a hd 6870 for 180$, or a gtx 560ti/470. Depending on how much you like dx11 and how much improvement you want really. 4850 is still good for dx10 games, so upgrading to get satisfying boost will not exactly be cheap.

the reason the HD 4250 it's not listed it's because it's one of the lower than lowest end cards, it's not use for gaming whatsoever, it's just for connecting some monitor in it and that's it

So you're suggesting that with a low budget is not worth it to buy a new card? Maybe it's better then that I wait one more year for prices to lower. I am still happy with my card and can still play for example The Witcher 2 with med-high settings, but I hoped to find better cheap card.
My radeon is only 512MB though. Is it worth it to get a cheap card that is slightly better and is 1GB?

Depends on the resolution too, a 5770/6770 will be better. However in my eyes is only half a step better b.c when I upgrade I tend to jump big to get that satisfaction. If you can sell your 4850 for $30-50 than that can help add to your budget. Like I said 6870 or maybe even a 6850 will be more worthwhile.
In terms of perfomance value I think the 4850 can easily hover around $80 vs newer budget cards, so you can see that going cheap would only mean sidegrading. I see a 6670 for $80 http://www.overclock.net/graphics-cards-general/502403-graphics-card-ranking-5th-time-last.html heres the bible gpu list. Read it. Learn it. Spread it. :D
I have the 23rd best single card, but the 43rd best SLI setup. Which isn't bad considering that over half the one's about me are quad or tri SLI haha
Hey guys I need some help. Here's my specs,
Giagbyte H55M-S2H Intel H55 Socket LGA1156 MB
Intel Core i3-530 2.93Ghz 4M LGA1156 CPU
OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666 Platinum Low Voltage 2x2GB
Hitachi 1TB Serial ATA HD 7200/32MB/SATA-3G
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
I can buy a XFX Radeon 5770 1GB DDR5 card for $80. Right now I only have a 400w PSU and I know I'm probably going to have to upgrade that. Here's my questions...is the 5770 a good card or is there another card in the $75-$125 range that will give more bang for the buck. Also if there is one in that range that will work on my 400w PSU that would be an added bonus. I know that this system will not be a screamer, but I am looking to play most modern games, with reasonable settings. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just upgraded from a 4890 to a 6870 and there's a huge difference. Better FPS with even more settings, all turned up even higher, + DX11, and 3D. if I ever get a 3D display...
XFX Dual-Fan 6870 for less than $200 plus a $30 rebate and had 2 free game d-loads (Shogun 2 & Dirt 3) when I got it last month.
