Graphic card comparisn?

I'm getting a new computer and i want it to work with crysis.

Will a geforce 8500gt 1gb work? Or would a ati3870 512mb

Im not too lcear about graphics cards, thanks in advanced.

The 8500gt 1GB is complete garbage in games. The 3870 512MB beats it in any possible way. Hope that clears things up.

EDIT: If you have the money for it, I would suggest getting the 4850, or the GTX 260/GTX 280.

The game is running it at a horrible resolution of 800 x 600, a few settings on medium/high, most on low.

Crysis - 3870

The game is running at 1440 x 900, all settings Very High. Gameplay is nice and smooth.
