I know there were a few threads for this, but I'm looking for a new gaming mouse. I don't want to spend crazy money, but I want something that's really comfortable. Any suggestions? Also, I'm in Australia right now, so I need to buy from an Aussie site. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I recently bought the microsoft sidewinder mouse. It was love at first sight. But alas, I find my $40 Genius mouse more comfortable :( :( :(

Its a good optical mouse. Its got 1800 dpi if I remember correcty and unlike its laser companion, the G5, the MX518 has the "page forward" thumb button. The G5 only has page back.

I don't know about you but the more mouse buttons that function in games the better IMO. I have the MX512 which is the 1200 dpi model and it works great for me. I'll even use it with my next build.

Razer is good too. They have a completely different feel than Logitech mice. Test both at a computer parts store if you can to see which brand you like better.

extra buttons, macros, 2000 dpi.

the sidewinder mouse lets you assign one of it's buttons to turn around 180 degrees instantly to kill anyone behind you.

have you ever wanted to crouch in stalker without having to do a half crouch first? or have an extra button on your mouse to throw a grenade rather than trying to find "g" on the keyboard?

You missed a point. They're helpfull but they're not manditory.

Doesn't the newer revision of the G5 bring the page forward button back? Becuase I thought it was present on the revision before the rust model, then it got taken out. Then it was put back in?

Or am I thinking of another mouse? :P.

You might be right. It would seem like common sense to bring it back. I don't know what the hell they were thinking when they decided to remove it lol.

The Logitech G9 is hands down the best mouse I have ever touched. It is expensive, but worth it.

I use a Razer Diamondback 3G (Blue) on a Razer Exactmat. I can't fault either -- the mouse feels like it was moulded from my hand.

lAmazon seems to be selling their mice really cheap right now. The G9 is going for $56. So I may just go ahead and bump up. What are the major differences between the G9 and G5? One more comfortable than the other? Also, is there a difference of quality/performance with corded and cordless mice?

im using the cyber snipa. pretty comfortable, plus different setttings make the mouse have different colored lights. My old mouse was a razer copperhead, that mouse wasnt as comfortable and it had problems (I think my mouse was a defect tho, as my problem was unique to other copperhead owners).
