Are these video cards good?

When I search Skyrim System requirments, this site http://www.systemrequirements.in/system-requirements-for-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim.html Says that these cards are in the recomended position for the game.

Thanks in advance :D

Don't get the 5850 now, when the 6870 is only a few dollars more, unless you can get the 5850 for much cheaper.

GTX460 is great.

I just saw this on that site and I was like..

"Wow..so something for $140 is a recomended card for Skyrim eh?" And I started getting all excited! I guess I'll go check out the 6870 now.

Just note, that its a PC port from consoles, so while they might be minimum, it may still run badly or be unplayable.

I have two 5850s that I paid $300 a peice for only around a year and 1/2 ago lol. But yea the 5850 is kind of inbetween a 6850 and 6870 in performance(closer to the 6870)

So you're saying that this card probably wont be good enugh for Skyrim?

I watched some YouTube videos with this card playing Crysis 2 maxed out. I'm sure it could get away with Skyrim. (assuming they optimise it well for PC)

1 example I can give you is GTA 4, even top-end rigs have trouble with that game.

5800s have inflated due to their performance in bitcoin, but the 5850 is slightly faster than a 1GB 460, I'd get whichever is cheapest amongst a 460, 5850, and 6870.

Hell a while back I saw the 5870 for like $179.99 - great deal IMO and better than the above mentioned cards.

But anyways ... the 6870 will eat Skyrim for breakfast, it's being develped for consoles first, so any decent PC should be fine providing Bethesda has the game optimized.

Doubt it, Bethesda, and especially the oblivion team, doesn't make bad pc ports.

Yeah. Bethesda might have made a poor choice when they decided to have the 360 as the lead platform however they aren't suicidal. It will probably run very well on mid-range cards like the 5850, 6850, and GTX 460 1GB.

You can't go wrong with either, stock the 5850 has an edge, however if you OC the 460 really pounds away at games. The 460 however is MUCH better at tessellation. So if you like your DX11, go that route.

Perfect, I was also in this dilemma and I think I'll pick up either the 6870 or the GTX460 (OC'd).
