X3 Reunion can last, well, forever. I've been playing for over a year now and I'm still having fun. Building a trade empire and a massive fleet can take quite some time.

Some games of Sins of a Solar Empire can literally last weeks. Not really my style, I like to get in and out...Sup Com is the most I can handle.

RTS's tend to take a while, most MMO's take forever, which is a good thing for me, and the Fallout series were pretty plot heavy. Hopefully Fallout 3 will be too!

Most of the games I own have good longevity. Simcity 4, various flight simulators, Silent Hunter III, Morrowind, Total War games, Mafia... I was never much of a fan of those games you finish once and never want to play again.

If you make your galaxy big enough, Sins of a Solar Empire is possibly second only to an MMO. I didn't dare going beyond 250 planets, but as far as I know there is no cap on how huge your galaxy is.

Some other notable games are the entire Total War series, the entire Civilization series, the entire Sim City series, the entire Grand Theft Auto series, the Diablo games, the Baldur's Gate games and The Witcher and some other roleplaying games.

Obviously, online games are virtually uncapped in terms of potential maximum play time, so I don't see any point in recognising them. As far as singleplayer games go, when it comes to a single play through, I think RTS/TBS are at the front of the pack, followed by then roleplaying games, then management strategy games.

I'll second that, Sins maps can take ages to complete. I played one map for 8 hours one day and it wasn't near complete.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. also takes a while if you do a lot of the side quests.

I don't know whether your making a jab or being honest but, Social Lives are Expendable, boring, annoying, and most of all dramatic (stupid Clicks) Games are much more fun with a lot less...stupidity.

Oh well back to the topic....Total War Series will take you a while as well as Sins and WoW, KotOR if you do ALL the side quests and...honestly DoW DC (singleplayer takes a solid amount of time).

Well I think the poster is talking about a good game, not an MMO. MMOs you can't beat, you can level to highest level but there will always be something there. It's not a beatable genre. I'd try Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday if you like hardcore strategy. Galactic Civilizations 2, Civilization Series, etc.

Many good RPGs takes ages to finish

Same with some RTS games. Total War series can take hours...

ARPGS like Diablo/TQ also have virtual endless replayability provided they keep your interest

Sim games like Sim City will also keep you playing for a long time

But seriously... MP and MMO games are THE KING of value. If you find one you love... and find people to play with that make the experience a lot of fun... well you could stay indoors for months .
