Hello, fellow gamer! Today i have something special for you FPS enthusiasts. I've took all the optimizations from my PC, and i'm telling you the whole process. Sit back, listen closely and reap the benefits, also enjoy!.
Prep: What i want you guys to do first, is (Download UserBenchmark https://www.userbenchmark.com/) Run the test, and save the result page by bookmarking it. It should be a star icon to the right of the URL. I want you to benchmark your performance before the optimizations, then when the optimizations are completed you can benchmark your PC, once more. To get your final results. None of the programs in this guide is a virus, or such things. Don't worry, I'm going to guide you through the whole process.
Windows 10 Optimizations: Click on run, and type in MSCONFIG. Once you've done that you'll find yourself with a bunch of options, but we only need one menu. Click on (BOOT) then click on (ADVANCED OPTIONS). Then you'll find yourself, once again with options. Click on (NUMBER OF PROCESSES). Set it to the highest number you can go. Basically, it's telling Windows to use all of your CPU cores, cool right? Don't Restart, because we have a lot of optimizing to do...
Go to this website, to disable all the unnecessary services, that windows poop in your system: http://www.pcerror-fix.com/windows-10-services-to-disable-for-gaming
First up we have videos from amazing Youtubers: (Xander Baatz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJTCwSX9Ym8) (Panjno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkJBDEDDS5o) they're going to tell you everything you need to do, to optimize your Gaming Rig! Try to follow along the videos, and if you do you've successfully optimized Windows 10!
AMD/NVIDIA GPU Optimizations: Okay, so let's get to the good stuff, THE GPU (DUN DUN DAHHHHH!!!!) Alright, I'm joking. Okay, so for AMD Users, listen up.
AMD Radeon Settings: Right click on your Desktop, and click on AMD Radeon Settings. Once you've done that, click on the gear on the top right. Then click on General once that's done, scroll down a little bit to find preferences. Disable the In-Game Overlay, because for me it cause extreme frame lag. Scroll down, once more until you find AMD User Experience Program. Press the drop down menu, and hit leave. I click leave, because it uses too much CPU utilization. After that, click on the gaming tab. Click on Global Graphics, and set graphics profile to (STANDARD) Then Scroll down, and turn off: Radeon ANTI-LAG, RADEON CHILL, RADEON IMAGE SHARPENING, RADEON ENHANCED SYNC, and Wait For Vertical Refresh. After that, scroll down to the (ADVANCED TAB). Now here is where it gets tricky.
So if you are like myself that likes Graphics/Performance Use These Settings
Anti Aliasing: Use Application Settings
Anti Aliasing Method: Multisampling
Morphological Anti Aliasing: OFF
Anisotropic Filtering: Use Application Settings/Disabled
Texture Filtering Quality: Performance
Surface Format Optimizations: Disabled
Tessellation Mode: Override Application Settings: 8x or 16x
OpenGL Triple Buffering: Disabled
GPU Workload: Graphics
If you don't care about Graphics, use these settings, below
Anti Aliasing: Override Application Settings 2x
Anti Aliasing Method: Multisampling
Morphological Anti Aliasing: OFF
Anisotropic Filtering: Override Application Settings 2x
Texture Filtering Quality: Performance
Surface Format Optimizations: Enabled
Tessellation Mode: Override Application Settings: OFF
OpenGL Triple Buffering: Disabled
GPU Workload: Graphics
Download (RadeonMod https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/amd-registry-editor-download.html)
Once that's done, click on the application. Click on the (0000 TAB) Find DisableDMACopy: Set it to 1
DisableBlockWrite: Set it to 0
PP_MCLKSTUTTERMODETHRESHOLD: Set it to the Response Time on your Monitor/TV. Mine is 8.5, so i set it to 8500. If yours is 4, set it to 4000. Please make sure to google your Monitor to find Respone Time, before messing with this setting.
StutterMode: Set it to 0
Scroll down a little bit, to find DisableULPS: Set it to 0.
Switch to the UMD TAB This part of the guide was created By Skyrion
Switch to UMD tab Now scroll down to [Anisotropic filtering & Texture]
4B_) TextureOpt to 0x3100, TextureOpt_DEF to 1 descriptions provided in program.
4C_) CatalystAI_DEF to 1 and CatalystAI to 0x3100 This will enable Catalyst AI, a form of texture optimization technique that reduces memory bandwidth usage, might make distant textures appear blurry, though they are unnoticeable unless you're sniping and TBH it is a gameplay advantage to have less texture detail at distance for terrain while players are unaffected, so you can pick them off the scene easily.
SKIP THIS PART TO STEP 5 IF YOUR TEXTURE FILTERING QUALITY IS NOT SET TO PERFORMANCE. IT WILL LOOK BAD.
HighQualityAF to 0
Anisotype to 0x3200 this will optimize texture filtering to use bilinear+trilinear in a mix to increase performance without losing image quality.
Switch to Tweaks
Toggle Dx9 Tweaks, it has little if any gain but it doesn't seem to have any adverse effects.
Make sure ULPS is in OFF state.
FOR NVIDIA USERS: This video was made by an incredible Youtuber, by the name of (Scarner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFDWLvwCaiM). Please listen, and enjoy! And sorry for you Nvidia Users for no extra guide. I don't have a Nvidia GPU, so my only choice is to give you a nice video!
PC Maintenance: Best tools that i use are:
CCleaner https://www.ccleaner.com/
Wise Game Booster https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-game-booster.html,
Built-in Windows Defrag Software: To use (Defrag) just type in Defrag in the search box
MalwareBytes: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/
Always remember to clear your %Temp% Folder. Click on run, and type %Temp% Once that's done, Highlight all items, and delete. Nothing wrong will happen. Do this on a regular daily day basis, to keep your shiny computer clean, for gaming!:)
FINAL RESULTS!: Okay, so now that you've done all the optimizations i want you to restart your computer. Then run UserBenchmark To see your scores!:)
