Frame rate locking at 60 and 30...nothing in between. Why?

Drives me freaking crazy!!!

Games like WoW and Wildstar run at either 60 or 30 and that's it. So if it drops at all below 60 "BAM!!!!"....down to 30 FPS.

Any idea why? The constant drop for 60 to 30 makes me not what to play these games at all.

You can just use something like MSI afterburner to limit fps and have them locked to your desired fps if you dont want them to fluctuate alot sure you have to do it manually for each game but its easy

Indeed. Turn off Vsync to avoid this. Also, if you can't run a simple game like WoW at a steady 60 fps, it is probably time to upgrade. ;)

Well WoW has come a long way in the graphics department and it's not really optimized well for decent gaming PCs...plus I'm running at 1440p. So from time to time it will drop below 60.

MY PC atm:

Sapphire r9 290 tri-x / Intel i5-3570K

If you have an nvidia card I think a setting that affects this is in the refresh rate setting. It might be on "adaptive refresh rate" where if you can't get a steady 60fps then it locks it to 30 (I think that's how it works)

Triple buffering seemed to do the trick and the game runs sooo much better ty.
