Hi pc:

12900K with NZXT KRAKEN X73 ( 50-60C in game )

2x16GB DDR4 KINGSTON DDR4 3600MHZ in GEAR 1

RTX 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming

Aorus Z690 Elite DDR4 bios F5

SSD 1 TB NVM PCIE

I have Windows 11 installed the newest version.

I compared the same level scenario and walking in lvl, with someone with the same specs.Almost.

But he have oc 12900K to 5.2ghz.I have stock 12900K. Also have DDR5 6400mhz. I have 3600mhz DDR4.And we both 3090 ti.

He:

Why that performance is perfect ?

He have steady 110-125fps. Steady gpu usage 95-98%.

I have 100fps with gpu usage drops to 80-90% to 95fps and up. Why that happens? Thanks.I am bottlenecked somewhere?

Performance like me: ( copy link )

Your memory is the bottleneck, but you are still getting pretty good fps.

I read about ddr4 vs ddr5 in Far Cry 6 and there is only few fps differences at max. Its memory for sure thats why low gpu usage?

@sew333: It is for sure the DDR4 holding you back. Far Cry 6 and other games built on the Dunia Engine (known for poor multi-thread performance) benefit greatly from the extra memory bandwidth of DDR5. It is a worst case scenario for DDR4.

I have weird issue with gpu usage and fps after some time of gameplay.

When i start game i have 95-98% usage and fps between 100-125fps. But after some time of play ,like 20 minutes, gpu usage drops to 75%-90% and fps is lower,80-90fps.

Why that happens? It happens always after some time of play.

It only happens in Far Cry 6. Using 1440P,all ultra.

Other programs in background closed.Temps are ok.

@sew333: The game may have a memory leak or is just poorly optimized. You could also be going into areas that are more demanding for the CPU which would make the memory bottleneck more of a factor.

@sew333: The only thing you could do on your end is switch to DDR5. You can't fix any game optimization issues.

@sew333: You get more performance from DDR5. However, the lowered performance after a certain amount of time is probably due to bad optimization in the game.

Hey guys. I find that someone with DDR5 6000mhz and 12900K have the same fps like me and similiar usage after some time.

Link. Look:

Right from gpu temp -65-85% usage.

update BIOS, drivers, Windows updates and the game itself.

If it's just one game then it doesn't really matter, as long as you get expected fps in most games and benchmark stats are similar to other similar PCs

Last question. Now i have Rtx 4090.

I have an question.Software used to record the gameplay:

• Mirillis Action / Bandicam / MSI Afterburner .

If someone use that programs to record it will raise gpu load on screen display?

I ask because someone here have 85-90% usage on FC6 on 1440P when i get only 60%. And other youtubers with 12900K and 4090 have the same 60% usage on 1440P.

Link with that high gpu usage ,strange:

its not ram,not oc not.

The guy was recording the video via the GPU which led to a higher load?

Hi. Pc:

Hi. I have 12900K stock

32 GB 2x16 GB DDR4 3600mhz

Palit Gamerock Pro OC rtx 4090

1300W Seasonic Platinum Prime

Aorus Elite DDR4 Z690

Windows 11 2H22. 527.37 drivers.

Issue with Far Cry 6. I must launch game 2 times to get good fps and gpu usage. First launch low gpu usage and low fps. Then i quit game, relaunch game and good fps and better usage. Is this driver issue?
