anyone think there will be a problem running SLI 970s with a supernova 750w? i have an i5 2500K and 2 harddrives (one SSD, one HDD). i dont do anything else crazy to pull power, and im not running water cooling. the i5 2500k is overclocked to 4.2ghz.

thanks.

Your CPU with 2 x 970's under full load should use less than 450 watts leaving plenty of headroom for everything else .

If your PSU is a 750w gold then you are more than fine im running 2 GTX 970's and a i7 4790k @ 4.6 ghz with 3 harddrives 1 SSD a water pump and 8 fans on a 5 year old 850w bronze XFX PSU and so far neither me nor the computer have set on fire :P

Nope, 750 is overkill, you need to downgrade.

You could run X3 970's with 750W.

Glad I saw this; I was looking to get a 1000w PSU for a dual 980 setup :P

I have a 970 SLI setup and under load I see about 380W-440W at the wall when running 3DMark.

I sli my 970s and had a psu's fan go bad on me about a month ago. I used a 750w psu while my 1200w was being serviced...and it works

However...you should try to get your total system watts to be near half your psu's max wattage...if possible. You get longer lasting, cooler psu that way, along with greater efficiency (psus are most efficient near half their rated maximum)
