Even at low to medium settings I can't get a consistent 50+ FPS. Most of the time it's in the 40s. I even tried to scale down the resolution to 80% and I still can't get 60FPS consistently. I also noticed that changing most of the settings from low to ultra and vice versa barely has any impact on the FPS. It'll stay in the 40s and then shoot up to high 50s when nothing is happening on the screen. It drops to 30s during combat.

I'm running the game at 1440P with the following specs:

GTX 780 in SLI

i5 4670K OC'ed

8GB RAM

This is really bothering me since I can max out games that are more graphically demanding than doom. Either the game is not optimized or nVidia fucked up again like they did with the Witcher 3 last year.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

Does DOOM support SLI? The 780 isn't exactly a good 1440p card on its own. Monitor your GPU usage and see what you get.

@BassMan: @dangamit: DOOM doesn't support SLI. You have to force it through the control panel.

U know damn well there is a DOOM thread. What makes your post so special that it warrants a new thread?

@saintsatan: I had already done that. I changed the SLI rendering mode to Force Alternate Frame Rendering 1 instead of 2 and it worked. Now the game never dips below 60 even at Ultra. Interesting.

No, it doesn't - OpenGL doesn't allow SLI or Crossfire, so it's basically a single 780 at 1440p

As you can see the 780Ti get's about 54fps on average, I'd say single 780 should be about 45-50fps - I see no problem here what so ever.

@dangamit glad to hear forcing SLI worked =)
