do i need Vista to run Directx 10 graphics card?

think yyou do need to have vista to use the DX10 effects in a DX10 Card because microsoft did not updated the windows xp directx neom22

You need Vista for DX10 effects. You can use a DX10 card with XP and get DX9

Directx 10 is vista only, but the graphics card may support DX10 games. Also, in my opinion, it MIGHT not be best to have vista with a dx10 card because windows vista is a huge resource hog. An example of that would be Crysis needs 768mb of RAM on XP and 1gb on Vista!!! So the extra bit of RAM on XP may compensate for the better GPUNirvana08223

If anyoen has 768MB in their computer they shouldn't be playing high end games.
