Did you ever complete Crysis or Crysis Warhead?

I've got both games and have had them since the day I build my PC. In fact, they were ordered and delivered with my PC's components. However, I've yet to complete either game. The reason is because once the aliens became the central theme of the story line, I lost interest. Also, the beautiful eye candy of the tropical environments were replaced with dull environments filled with cold ice and snow. How about you guys?

I think I completed Crysis 3 times and Warhead twice, but I also played random levels a lot.

BTW, I finished both games on a PC below minimum requirements and it was awesome.

I completed both of them twice. Crysis isn't nearly as good as Warhead.

I finished both. I actually found the alien settings to be really interesting.

LOL. The only time I play it or Warhead is to admire how smoothly it runs on my computer. It so damn smooth, even when I max out the settings (but set AA to 0x or 2xx).

Go into your cvargroup folder and open the postprocessing folder. Set edgeaa to 2 and the game will look better (overall) than with 8x anti-aliasing enabled.

I'll give this a try.

The first image is with 8x aa on, the second with with aa off and edgeaa set to 2. Look how much better the trees look in the second image, especially the lower right one.

You know, maybe it's just me, but I think Crysis Warhead looks better than Crysis.

Completed them both, and i keep meaning to go back to do it again.

Yeah, Crysis Warhead is freaking sweat when it's icy. That was definitely my favorite part.

In Crysis I got tothe last two bosses but was stopped by the glitchfest. I would fall through the ship deck, the boss would either fall through the deck or levitate maybe 300 feet above me, or the rocket launcher wouldn't drop once empty (stopping me from getting another). This is with all the most recent patches and there were no signs of problems before the last level.

Never played Warhead :(

I have to admit that the alien spaceship, while graphically very pretty, was a borefest :lol:

Yup. Everything is set to max, I just don't have any mods installed. Edge aa makes curved surfaces and foliage look much better with a minimal perfomance hit, while standard aa makes straight lines look better, but hits performance a lot more.

Both options look much better than with no aa solution on though.

I've played each installment about 20+ times through each lol. Its that fun for me, hardly any FPSs have that much awesome gameplay coupled with replayability.

But yeah, I definately agree with you on the alien parts, its a real struggle once they show up and become the central part of the gameplay.

Oh well, even the All Mighty Halflife had the Xen levels...

I've played a lot of crysis, i lost count of how much time i've played. Not to mention the editor and all the random levels, i must have spent 5 hours on vulcano island alone. Am I the only one who didn't disliked the ice levels?

A little off topic but I'm just wondering if any of you guys are pre-ordering Crysis 2...I have it done on Newegg and I can cancel it at any time. Do you guys think the game is shaping up to be good?

Pre-ordered the LE on The Hut for 27 pounds (40 dollars). I think it's going to be brilliant.

Finished them both on my old rig. Ever since I upgraded I have been meaning to reinstall and play them on higher settings. I've just been too lazy to do so however (can't really be bothered downloading the graphics mods and such as well).

With Crysis, there were only 1.5 levels with ice/snow: Paradise Lost and the first part of Exodus. I actually liked the alien levels where there were both flying and ground hugging aliens. I disliked Ascension. But, I loved Reckoning (inside the carrier).

As for Warhead, the snow levels had a mix of both KPA (nanosuits mostly) and aliens. The only reason I disliked the snow levels in Warhead was the huge frame rate hit.

I liked both overall and finished both several times over. I just deleted all the saved games once more. I'll be playing both again at some future time.

Damn you guys in the UK have it cheap for games. Even for DA2, you guys pay around 39 USD while we pay 60.

I see you changed your avatar, Mr. Freeman. ;) :P I'm 99.9% sure it will kickass despite what anyone says. Just like all the Dragon Age 2 haters, Crysis 2 will be awesome. That's my take on it anywyas. Crytek has a good track record. Far Cry, Crysis, Crysis Warhead all great games. Elann2008

Yeah it's just that I haven't seen much discussion about that game and it's out in about 3 months time. It's in Crytek's hands so they will definitely do a good job with the PC version.
