Maybe some sort of Securom-like detection?

may be it was just a firewall notification asking to allow/deny the game to access internet & you guys thought it's detecting some virus..

the new kasperky has false positives, as well as other antivirus software.

and if your using AVG, everyone thinks its great on here, i dont know why... i guess because its free,   go download the 30day trial of nod32, thats a good antivirus.

norton is good with catching viruses, but the program itself is not so good.

so if he did trully buy this game, then i say turn off the anti-virus.

this could be as well.

also games will let you know if you are double firewalling, which is not real good for gaming.

Probably a false positive, a lot of applications will get flagged by anti-viruses because they try to talk to the kernel which Windows does not like so they get flagged, could be the securom or whatever DRM crysis uses. I doubt there is an actual virus on the game.

Computer Science III, eh? But seriously, retail games don't come with viruses. They come with rootkits nowadays, but that's another story. So, no need to worry.

Then you should have known it was a false positive.
