DDR1---> DDR2 ram makes no difference, anyone know any AM2 DDR1 mobos?

The differnce of DDR1 and DDR2 is in some cases less then one FPS.

The performance increase for DDR2 isn't really in games, its in general computing, encoding and other stuff like that .... I don't know of any DDR AM2 boards although i'm pretty sure there are some somewhereAnubis_386

If you want to upgrade to phenom you need DDR2,otherwise stick with whatever setup you have now.RTSFTW

I'm getting an amd X2 4400+ - 6000+.

well i would rather not upgrade from ddr1 to ddr2... but ddr2 is ALOT cheaper for what you get. DDR is very expensive and limited choice's now. So in m eyes buying into ddr2 im getting more for my money nowa days.

I was also looking for that when i was choosing my motherboard. socket 939 is what they have so far..i decided to go for the AM2 with DDR2 cause of the high performance nad the thought of it lasting longer cause DDR has been out there for a preety long time nowenriquesdrj2_8

True. but still im preety sure about the life on DDR than DDR2 but for now there is no AM2 motherboard thats support DDR. i wish they did

There IS none.

AMD created AM2 with the mindset that DDR2 is it's main funtional RAM-type.

There WAS an AM2 board that supported DDR and DDR2, though I can't seem to find it anymore.

Your looking at pc2-4300 ram and pc2-5400 ram...

Fine....4 fps difference. But anyways I'm getting an AM2mobo,x2 4600 and 800mhz ddr2 ram now for about $350 canadian (gona upgrade to 8800gts 340mb november).
