you would have to put the signal to 480i and then bring it in through composite or s-video. If you want to record HD quality http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ But it can't capture 1080p, only 1080i and 720p. It also can't capture anything with HDCP protection.
If you wait a little longer, there are supposed to be some devices being developed that will allow you to capture 1080p.
