It looks like at the CES presentation Crysis was running on a  Core 2 Duo system with a GeForce 8800GTX, Windows Vista 32 bit and  DirectX 10,  constantly  at 60 FPS   at a  2048x1536 resolution.

How is it old if the news just came out like yesterday? Do you have no concept of time?

I really want to play this game, I hope my 7950GT can at least give me medium or low, as long as it looks sorta good and doesnt stutter like crap.

Why does everyone think the game is going to require huge resources?  I know, I know, its purdy lookin' but I guarentee you anyone with 1GB of memory, a processor over 2.8GHz, and a 6800GT or greater video card will be able to run the game just fine.

Hey, I love good looking games as much as the next guy, but last time I looked blowing sh** up is pretty fun at any resolution (well, maybe not 800x600...)

FPS dont strain the processor to much... CS:S and HL2 have huge physics, while they may not be as large as Crysis, someone with a 1.5ghz processor could probably run HL2. As far as graphics go, well you can change settings until it runs well. Personally, I dont believe EA will pull this game off. I would love to see it be as successful as they say it will, but After buying several EA products, I just dont trust them anymore.

Here is a list of confirmed information...
  • Crysis will run on both DX9 & DX10 as well as Windows XP and Windows Vista.
  • A graphics card that supports Shader Model 2 or higher is required.
  • CryEngine2 is estimated to scale back 2 years, and scale ahead 1.5 years.
  • A single 7800GTX will run the game quite well on fairly high settings according to Crysis Art Director, Michael Khaimzon.
  • Jack Mamais of Crytek said in an exclusive Crysis-Online interview that his X1900XT runs the game very well at reasonably high settings ( still unoptmized ).
  • Crysis will dynamically utilize all processing threads available. Meaning quad-core processors will be supported.

Minimum Requirements
CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6200 or ATI X1300 - Shader Model 2.0
RAM: 768MB on Windows XP or 1GB on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements
CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7600 or ATI X1600 Pro (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5GB+
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

I think they're just publishing it.

I am not so worried about EA, they havent made Crytek their b**** yet like they did with Westwood and DICE.

EA can publish quality games (Freedom Fighters comes to mind).
