Hey all, I built a new pc about a year ago and never got around to changing the cpu fan from the intel stock fan. It is a core i7 sandy bridge 1155 I believe. To install the new fan do I need to do anything special or just replace the old one with it and it will start working ? I want to get the zalman CNPS9500 AT. Thanks for any help with this.

Zalman isn't as good as a Hyper 212+... Zalman's look better though so if that's the way you want to go then I'm not here to judge.

Just bought a Hyper 202 EVO myself and it does the job excellently

I guess I'll try out the hyper then. Should I go with the EVO or the 212+ ? Leaning towards the 212+ since it has thousands of reviews. Thanks again.

The EVO is the newer version. It has its heat pipes spaced closer together meaning they make more direct contact with less space in between. Other than that they are identical

Top is 212+ and bottom is EVO
