ok, i don't have the PC built at this time as i don't have all the necessary funds.

With that said i wanted to ask. As i am generally retarded (i hope this is not offensive if it is applied to me) when it comes to system compatiblity.

This is for Battlefield 3 obviously.

I'm gonna list my information, and i am going to copy and paste the recommended and minimum specs, and i'd like to know by the PC guru's here would my laptop - my only PC device - could even bother playing this at minimum settings.

My Specs:

  • OS: Windows 7 64 Bit
  • PROCESSOR: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50Ghz
  • MEMORY: 4 GB
  • HARD DRIVE: 111 GB
  • GRAPHICS CARD: NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M
  • SOUND CARD: SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

Battlefield 3 Specs

  • OS: WINDOWS 7 64-BIT
  • PROCESSOR: QUAD-CORE CPU
  • MEMORY: 4 GB
  • HARD DRIVE: 20 GB
  • GRAPHICS CARD: DIRECTX 11 COMPATIBLE WITH 1024 MB RAM (NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560 OR ATI RADEON (6950)
  • SOUND CARD: DIRECTX COMPATIBLE
  • KEYBOARD AND MOUSE
  • DVD ROM DRIVE

You can find the minimum system requirements after the break.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • OS: WINDOWS VISTA (SERVICE PACK 2) 32-BIT
  • PROCESSOR: 2 GHZ DUAL CORE (CORE 2 DUO 2.4 GHZ OR ALTHON X2 2.7 GHZ)
  • MEMORY: 2 GB
  • HARD DRIVE: 20 GB
  • GRAPHICS CARD (AMD): DIRECTX 10.1 COMPATIBLE WITH 512 MB RAM (ATI RADEON 3000, 4000, 5000 OR 6000 SERIES, WITH ATI RADEON 3870 OR HIGHER PERFORMANCE)
  • GRAPHICS CARD (NVIDIA): DIRECTX 10.0 COMPATIBLE WITH 512 MB RAM (NVIDIA GEFORCE 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 OR 500 SERIES WITH NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GT OR HIGHER PERFORMANCE)
  • SOUND CARD: DIRECTX COMPATIBLE
  • KEYBOARD AND MOUSE
  • DVD ROM DRIVE

Jut want to know if it could even run it, if i could even bother. Don't require the recommended, just wanna know if it could even do it.

Thanks

Even minimum settings would most likely be unplayable.

Its gonna struggle alot, even at minimum/low. The CPU is just above minimum spec on paper, but since its a laptop, its considered much slower than a desktop alternative.

Then the GPU, its a quaddro card, not really designed for gaming.

The cpu should be fine The gpu, the gx 570m, is not designed for gaming, it's low-end and it's mobile It won't be playable, i'm sure of that.

Youre sure of that are you? lol.

Just cause its a laptop card doesnt mean its a generation behind or anything. A bit slower sure, but it should run the game low/med. Maybe even med depending on the resolution.

It won't. Don't give the guy false hopes. He deserves to know the truth.

just a abit? A gtx 580m is slower the a normal GTX 460 and the TC's NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M is not even faster the a Geforce 8600gt, the FX 570m only has 32 shader processors

Evildead6789 is right in saying that it's going to run horrendously. If you look at the Notebookcheck page for the FX 570M, you'll see that it's a G80-based part with 32SPU's, which is roughly comparable in terms of performance to a desktop 8600 GT.

To put it into perspective, my laptop, which has a slightly superior 9600M GT, has trouble playing games from 2007-onwards at playable framerates. BF3 would absolutely smoke it.

Depends what you call playable, but the minimum system requirements ask for 512 mb vram and an 8800 gt chipset. That card has only 256mb vram and is comparable to an 8600 gt chipset. It also asks for a dual core of minimum 2.4 ghz. In the cpu department he doesn't have a lot of headroom. Maybe with a quad core i would have said yes, playable. But with this setup for bf3, i don't think so, i can't help the system requirements are so high. These are even minimum system requirements, mostly when a developper posts minimum system requirements, the game is hardly playable on it. This is mainly because the developper wants to sell as many copies as possible.

Ah yes, well when I get 30 FPS I consider that more than playable. Its really hard to tell 30 fps vs 60 fps for me. So playable would be anything between 20 - 30. Not ideal, but playable. Again this is for me.

I didn't know the M was that much slower. My mistake.

That is not a 570M, it's an FX 570M, a Quadro card, nothing like the 570M.
