Should be able to, just make sure you patch the game up. FSX is a beast, even takes my system to its knees if I configure it too high.

i would try to up the video card to alleviate stress put on the cpu from the game. it's more cpu intense than anything.

Up the video card to alleviate stress put on the CPU? That doesn't make sense except for in an offloaded physics situation. All the CPU has to do is feed driver instructions, lowering the resolution, and a few other graphical settings such as shadows would alleviate the CPU. That aside, it is indeed more of a CPU intensive game.

a core 2 due E8400 is 3GHz not 2.26. i bileve that when you are seeing it at 2.26GHz it is downclocking itself to save on power.

My MB throttles my cpu when just browsing the web and such. Its running at 1.6 according to CPU Z.
