Can someone please explain to me the main differences between the two? Are they the same game? Will there be thousands of kids getting the wrong version for christmas?

Ugh... SWTOR is an MMORPG, KOTOR is an RPG (single player).

KOTOR is 2003's GOTY single player RPG taking place 300 years before TOR.

TOR is a MMO that was just released and is in a sense KOTOR3
