Well the list I've put together for myself so far is:-

(Motherboard) ASUS 1155 P8Z68-V PRO

(CPU) Intel Sandybridge i5-2500K Unlocked Core i5 Quad-Core Processor (3.30GHz, 6MB Cache, Socket 1155)

(RAM) Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory Two Module Kit

(GPU) AMD 6870 (buying a second one later)

Though I am still new to this PC building thing and dunno how well that is going to work. :P

That's going to cost me around £400 depending on the deals I can find around the internet, and I already have a tower so I'm saving money there. Dunno if that helps at all.

Looks like I forgot about a lot of the basic stuff (did say I was new to this). :(

If you're after playing recently released and upcoming releases at medium it looks like it's going to cost a considerable bit more than £400, though to be honest you never specified what currency that 400 was.

If you go with the 6870 keep in mind it can runbasically everything on high, depends on resolution, if you lower it, it will max all games easily. The only game it won't max in 1080p isMetro 2033 but without AA it will max it with no problem.

And if you crossfire it, you got a system that will last for quite a while.

Yeah, I figured it would judging from what I looked up about it but I wasn't to sure. The basic's I forgot about was for the OP as I already have them which is probably why I forgot.

Sorry should have been clearer. I have all the basic mouse, monitor, keyboard, and speakers just need to obtain everything inside the computer except a dvd drive. And the currency is in USD.

Do you have keyboard/mouse/psu/case/monitor? If you don't have all of these things I don't think it will be worth attempting to build a $400 PC.
