Go ahead. It isn't a terrible game at all. In fact, it can be quite fun. People just don't like change and hate on the game for not copying it's predecessors.
It's a sorry @$$ed ripoff of what could of been a great game. Just stay away from it please. If your looking for a good RTS game, but 10000 times better, check out SC2 or something from the DOW series.
Westwood were the only ones that could make a great C&C game.. EA have done nothing but make the series get worse with every release. And just when you think it can't get any worse, they go and make another one.. which is, even worse. The original Red Alert was by far the best C&C game.

Instead, either get C&C: Tiberium Wars( 2007 ) or C&C: Red Alert 3( 2008 ). Not old at all, with beautiful graphics and solid gameplay, not to mention fun.
Just do like me and wait till steam sells it for 10-15 bucks then maybe will be worth it. I checked videos and reviews and game doesn't seem too great.

Unfortunately I found those two games to be on the terribad boat too. Go with Tiberian Sun +Firestorm, Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge, Generals + Zero Hour and Renegade.
