Hello all!

Well , I want to clean my CPU off. It has thermal compond on it and the HSF. So , can someone tell me EXCACTLY what to use?

Through reading I'm about 90% sure on how to. But if someone can tell me the tools , ect.. that would be great or even a link to a guide of some sort. Thank you!

Pure Acetone (you should be able to find some at a nail salon if you can't find it anywhere else) or 91% Isopropyl alcohol both work. You want whatever you use to be as pure as possible so it evaporates and doesn't leave any residue on the CPU. Arctic Silver sells its own solution as well.

Use a lint free cloth.

And yes, it is safe for the heatsink as well.
