I have been playing Fallout: New Vegas on my PC on High Quality and it is very smooth (Possibly 25 - 50 fps?). I have bought Skyrim already for the PS3 so if I can't run the game its no big deal but I have bought Morrowind and Oblivion for my PC and I love The Elder Scrolls Construction Set and I would love to start adding mods to Skyrim. If you guys need my specs just tell me :)

Skyrim is pretty demanding, particially in the CPU area. When you start adding graphical mods, it also gets very demanding on the GPU side

With any "Can I run this" thread.. you need to list specs man. Skyrim is a very optimized game but it's obviously more demanding than New Vegas. Depending on the number of mods you'll be running, it can take a bit of a hit.

Certain mods will cripple performance even on high end systems.

But yeah you need to post your specs.

They are vitually the same game engine. Skyrim is just maybe a tiny bump in graphics quality, so maybe you lose 5 fps compared to New Vegas. If New Vegas is playable, Skyrim is playable.

Alright thanks. You guys know if Skyrim is available on Steam? I don't feel like driving all the way over to a game store just to buy a game for $60 that I already have for the PS3. Its worth the money if its off Steam if you ask me. Or maybe I'm just that lazy :P Well do you guys know if it is on Steam? If so thats great and I'll buy it and download it tomorrow! :D

Yes it is, although I'm not sure why you asked here instead of searching yourself.

i'm running it (modded) on a laptop with a 1mb 7670m and i get around 30 fps outside and about 40+ inside with most settings (except shadows) on high to ultra. so i'm going to guess that it will run it, but probably only on medium at 720p with lowest/no shadows.

Just don't add any hd textures or enb series and you'll be fine on medium-low settings.

Hey guys!

I'm a big gamer but have always used consoles. I'm looking into used alienware laptops and i'm trying to keep it a 1100 or less I don't know much about pcs and the specs I need for gaming. it looks like I want atleast 2.5 ghz but can you run big graphics games on less than that? I have noticed so some turbo processors that bump it up to 3- ghz range do you recommend that? Any recommendations on specs that I need or don't need to worry about I would greatly appreciate.

Although I wouldn't buy a dell. You can get it up to 3.4GHz.

I highly recommend making a new topic, rather than bumping an old one. :)
