Can my machine run the Witcher 3 on max settings at 1440p? Would I be at 60fps?

It is also important to note that my RAM is running at 3200Mhz without even being overclocked.

1TB Samsung 850 Evo SSD

EVGA GTX 1070 Super Clocked

16GB of G.Skill Flare X 3200Mhz

1440p/60fps solid at max settings is not going to happen with a 1070. You will have to lower some settings to try and get a solid 60fps.

My gtx 1070 super clocked runs. I\ve got the ryzen 1600 and land on solid 56 on 1440p!

Turn off Nvidia Hairworks and you should get 55-70FPS with a 1070, that's what I was playing with when I had a GTX 1070. To me in the Witcher 3 as long as your framerate is above 40FPS the game is perfectly playable so the answer is yes at 1440p a GTX 1070 can play the game.

I played around 60 hours of the game on a GTX 1070 and I never saw the framerate drop below 50FPS, so you are all good.

Should be fine at 1440p if you turn hairworks off. If it’s still not smooth enough, dropping shadows down one notch should do it.

I also forgot that I am going to be adding some graphic mods which I am sure will hurt my FPS- I don't know what the graphic settings for this game are, but if I add mods I will probably have to pick a resolution that is between 1080p and 1440p- maybe 2k?

@mecha_frieza: Only difference between your PC and mine is the CPU (I run the i7 6700K at 4.7Ghz) and the ram (mine is also at 16GB but at 3000Mhz), so if I can do 1440p at ultra in 60fps, so can you. Thing is, you gotta turn off those Nvidia settings, as long as you do that, everything else can be set at max.

your pc will run it easy. If you get any fps problems just turn off hairworks, its really poorly optimized and tanks fps a lot. I haven't run Witcher 3 on my 1080 but previously when i played it on my 970 it ran 60fps solid at 1080p as long as i had hairworks off. Geralts hair looks better with it off in my opinion.

@Yams1980: I am assuming that I can just run this mod to give me better performance:
