I am a long-time fan of the series, even Generals, and own every installment (even Sole Survivor *shivers*) but I heard C&C 4 is just...horrible.

but is it worth getting for 5 bucks? I'd love to see where the story goes.

5$, cant really go wrong, even if its not that good :P

Not a fan of C+C4 or the latest Red Alert, but even I would say most people will find 5$ worth of fun in it at least :P

In my opinion NO, it's better to keep good memories of the series rather than play C & C 4.

Your call though

No. I bought it just to finish the story, I couldn't even do that.

I heard nothing good about command and conquer 4, you can just watch the cutscenes on youtube to know what happens in the end.

I'm thinking about getting RA3 Uprising, but not really sure.

I bought it for the same price a while ago on Impulse. If you are a real fan of the series and just want to see the conclusion, this lays the groundwork for that. Don't expect a good conclusion to the story from the game itself, you really have to look up an analysis of the story by fans to get a good idea of what they're going for. If you want good gameplay, stay far, far away from this game. Granted, the C&C series and similar games can be boiled down to a "build the most tanks" gameplay style, but this game far and away takes the genre even further in that direction. Not only is there no economy, your MCV can go into battle with you. It sounds like this could add some interesting strategic play but it really just doesn't feel right. It just turns into yet another tank. If you want a newish game from the genre, I had some fun with Red Alert 3, though the dual roles of the Japanese units are annoying.

You can't go wrong with Red Alert 3 when it's 5 dollars. It's worth a shot, but it's weaker than the previous C&C games.
