this is really ancient news, and no real surprise considering that call of duty is primarily a pc ip

call of duty 3 was just a big red one game that was rebadged to help with sales

but it is nice news all the same 

I never found myself a fan of any of the CoD's, 1, 2 or the Xbox 360, CoD 3. The initial excitement is breathtaking, but it wears off, quick. I'm personally eyeing the new Medal of Honor, Airborne. Man, that looks elite, changes it up quite nicely if they can pull it off.Aspyred

The last fun MoH there has been was Allied Assault... if multiplayer or realism mean anything to you then MoH is just plain crap. and this news isnt exactly the latest, but yeah, im certainly ready for it, and from what i've heard it'll be set in modern times

also, I wouldn't consider the vietnam war, modern warfare, modern warfare is more of the iraqi conflict and all

I loved the depth of field in CoD3 for Xbox360.

I just wished they would have released it for PC too, oh well... can't wait for CoD4!

CoD 3 was seriously rebadged big red one, i agree with A-S_FM.

I liked the first two though, at least the pc verions, so 4 should be cool.

modern will be cool, but realistically, modern warfare doesn't have huge chaotic battles with dozens of people all over the terrain at once. it's mostly urban and confined with lots of vehicle combat and artillery and air support. the huge battles are what makes CoD great, so it will be interesting to see how they handle modern warfare.

This is sortta old.... i remember talking to people in COD2 online last summer about this. People even had links to leaked rumors of it being modern combat. Looks they were right. Thank you! Infinity war! yes! cod3 sucked, these are the guys who know how to make a COD game great.

mohsh -metal of honor aa , sh spearhead expantion pack made like in 2002 or somthing and when i got cod2 i played online and in the aussie servers 90% of players cheated just by watching them move around and stuff its hard to explain and i remmeber saying dont you cheaters even hide that your doing it and they said allmost everyplayer on this server cheats, mind you this was a year after it was released. cheats piss me off so much i never cheated in ut and had to learn how to play first person shooters why do these noobs who wont take the time to get good they just dl aimbots/radars/trigger bots/cham skins(skins you can see through walls ) i just wanna break there legs with a cricket bat :P  ...jk...kinda

I actually hope they stay with WW2. So many battles left unfought, and there's the whole pacific theatre that they (Infinty Ward) are yet to tackle. Maybe throwing in a couple of campaigns, or a much longer one would be a good idea, maybe one featuring a couple of battles in the European theatre we are yet to see (there's bound to be some, giving the size, scope, and bredth of the allies campaign - how about Gallipoli, through the eyes of an Aussie soldier, that 's something I want to see and experience as an Australian, giving the lack of understanding given at school), maybe another tour through northern Africa (not sure how much is left to see on that front), a campaign though the Pacific theatre (Infinty Ward hasn't touched that yet, imagine what they could pull off), one going through Vietnam (obviously the 70's conflict, which, again, Infinity Ward hasn't touched upon), and maybe a modern one in Iraq or Afghanistan (mainly because I can't think of any other current or recent military conflicts - other than the bosnian-chechen war). That may sound like I'm expecting a lot, but the Call of Duty series, for me, is one of the best series in all of gaming, and much better than MoH, and there is just so much that Inifinty Ward hasn't done yet that I really want to see.

ive been playing cod2 for like a year and i havent seen any cheating.............and im still on v1.0.

 There aren't many cheaters on Call of Duty 2. Have a radar? I think they just use headphones and you don't use crouch.

How come there's no COD 3 for PC? What's this skipping of one installment for PC? To me, playing each war is a different gaming experience-- I would not want to miss it as long as it stays true to the COD spirit (unless its crappy).sharier

me 2, i would MUCH rather have a modern COD than another ww2 games.

I'd be an awful lot happier if the game was PC exclusive.  CoD2 was a bit of a joke, while the 1st one was as good as it gets for a "T" rated shooter.

As for claims about shooting someone's ear off...highly unlikely.  "Realism" will likely stop well short of any "M" rated material, unfortunately.

It's the best WW2, which honestly isn't saying much.  The first CoD was a revelation though, and the second was great as well, but where they really shined is with the great and straight-forward, not to mention awesome multiplayer.  I expect the same out of CoD4.
