I'm only at the beginning of the game and I have high expectations. Just saying though I have noticed that there are about 3 AI skins for civilians so far... it is kinda breaks the greatness feeling that I wanted with this game! It really comes off as a bit lazy. Maybe my game is bugged????? I hope so.

That's how it is throughout, and you have no choice but to put up with the creepy mannequins.

Yeah there aren't a huge number of character models, but believe me when i say that by the end you won't care at all.

I noticed that right off the bat too... but maybe it was the designers way of making the world feel eerie and claustrophobic.. like everyone is a mannequin. Maybe, I'm overreaching and they just didn't care about the character models because they put so much detail into the atmosphere and environments. :-P

I paid more attention to the vibrate environment rather than the AI models. Elizabeth looks really cute though and her design outshines all.

I guess I'm the only one that doesn't completely understand? Do you mean the same AI characters are reused?

If so, I didn't notice that either.

It messed up the atmosphere for me too. Having hundreds of clones blankly stare at you as you wander around is terrible. I don't know how they allowed it to release like that really.

I noticed all the women had the same face...creepy. Was more busy staring at the gorgeous environments though tbh.

the gameplay is mediocre, yes... but the game as a whole is pretty great.

Does this make sense? The game's gameplay is mediocre, but overall it's great? Aren't you more or less saying that Infinite would have been just as great as a movie, book or audio tape?

there is a lot more to a game than gameplay... in fact gameplay is the last thing i care about in a game. story, characters, environment... all more important than gameplay.

the gameplay still has to be somewhat engaging to hold all the other parts together, which bioshock infinite barely manages to accomplish... but no, gameplay does not make the game.

this is what i care about in games... your opinion may be different, but i don't play games for the gameplay.

At first, I thought the gameplay was stellar.. in like the first 2 hours.. then it just didn't get any better.. So I agree with that. The presentation was nice though.

I always say, it would make a good movie. I played it for it's story and atmosphere anyway.

... at best. If you just count the cut scenes in their advertisements. If you play the game, you will probably start to feel disgusted (assuming you're a white christian american.) The game is down-right anti-american.

Um...what. That makes no sense at all. Why do you play games then? Just watch movies. I mean...they're called "games"...GAMEplay is kinda the whole point of GAMES...so I think you're in the wrong hobby. Saying you don't play games for gameplay, is like saying you don't read books for the story, or that you don't listen to music for the sounds it creates.

This was the problem with Infinite. They were so focused on the presentation and the pseudo-intellectual story that they seemed to have forgotten what they were supposed to be making in the first place...a game. They should have just made an animated movie.

it makes perfect sense, i already explained it... gameplay is the glue in a video game. it can't be complete shit or the game sucks no matter what. bioshock infinite barely squeezes by with its gameplay.

movies are nowhere as interactive and immerse as games and they don't have anywhere near the same emotional investment.

if your enjoyment of games rest so heavily on gameplay then maybe you are in the wrong hobby... there is plenty of casual garbage out there with great gameplay, just play those instead.

 I really hope you're trolling, because  you need a serious head examination if you're actually being sincere. I don't think my brain cells can take anymore of this, so I'm out. I guess I should stop listening to music because my enjoyment of it rests so heavily on the sounds that it creates. Thanks for the insight, my man.

the statement was supposed to look dumb... to mimic your original statement looking just as dumb.

gameplay does not make the game. my enjoyment of a games rest on every other factor of a game, more so than the gameplay. to suggest i should not play games because of this is asinine, hence the mimicking statement.

all people should do things the way you do because everything you do is the right way, correct?

some people enjoy music for other reasons then the sounds that it creates, should they stop listening to it?

but good job being dismissive and insulting instead of actually addressing the main point of the post. clear signs of someone being subconsciously afraid to admit they have made an ass of themselves.

I too have played games with so and so gameplay but with good story. Yes, you can watch a film or TV show, but it is still fun to play the character in the story. You kind of feel it is YOU.

I've had this "I don't play games for the gameplay" argument on 4 occasions so far, and it still doesn't make sense, infact it literaly hurts when I try to understand it, but I do my best to shut up about it, would you please be a dear and not make ignoring you harder for me. Pretty Please !

They're character models and well their textures i.e. skins. That's a product of memory limitations on consoles, cross platform development 101.
