A third party peripheral will upgrade the resolution on the Steam Deck to 1200p. Are you interested? For me it's too much work to install it. Plus wouldn't the text be even smaller?

Steam Deck already struggles to run games at 1280x800. So, this seems like a waste as it would murder the frame rate. I quess if you wanted to run some very potato games at higher resolution, it would make sense. However, you are better off just getting the more powerful portables like Asus ROG Ally or Ayaneo 2 which already come with higher res screens.

Nice idea, wrong screen. The deck doesn't need a resolution bump. Both valve and Nintendo got that right: 720P ish is the way to go for handheld gaming devices. A good mix of sharpness due to the smaller screen while still not being too difficult to drive (though newer games are already giving the deck a tough time at 800P).

A freesync enabled screen (tuned to better deal with FPS ranges from 30 to 60 if that's possible) with better colours at 800P would be of more interest. Does HDR soak up a lot of juice? if not then that too (though Steam OS would need work to support it. It's early stages WIP on linux and a low priority).
