Best way to record PC gameplay?

Hey guys, I want to start recording some gameplay of BC2 but I've never recorded games before so I really don't know how to do it. A quick Google search shows a lot of different ways ranging from Fraps, Xfire, to WeGame. I was wondering what you guys feel is the easiest and most painless way to record my gameplay? Is it one of these, or something else entirely? Let me know! :P

I see. Ok well thanks for the help! I will definetley consider it, though I will keep looking at all my options.

Do NOT get Wegame. I used to stand by it but they decided to start charging and the basic version is crap. I went from beautiful HD High Res shots to a grainy 360p on youtube max.

You can use the free version of fraps. Just push the record button again as soon as the minute is up. Keep doing that till you're done recording, and then string the videos together in a movie editor.

The problem with Fraps is that 2 min = 10 gb

Xfire records in high res but it lags me out terribly. I'd go with Fraps... seemingly what everybody uses. Sure it isn't free but I've heard it's good.

Fraps seems to offer the best all round solution, couple of things to be aware of with it though is make sure the destination path for the recordings is on a physically seperate HDD as this will improve performance.

I used to record HD content (MW2) for commentatiers on a Dualcore 4GB RAM GTX260 and it was fine, it all comes down to if you have a well configured PC and the additional drive to record to then FRAPS isnt the hog people make out IMO.

Also if you are looking for a cheap video editing package then the Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD is a good buy at around £40 and also allows voice overs to be recorded directly in to the program.

Bandicam is a great recording program. Look into it.

MSI Afterburner works fine. It's better then fraps.

Fraps takes up a lot more resources and has no options. It doesn't even compress the video.

adds a bit of input lag is the only problem
