But... but... we're barely halfway through 2007. Can't this wait? Are you really asking for the best RTS of the last 6 months, or can we include games released between now and June 2006?
as of right now, World in Conflict by far. the beta is amazing on its own. the only thing I see competing is Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, which im also really excited for.
Competition between World in Conflict and CoH: Opposing fronts. WiC is one of the best RTS I've ever played next to CoH. I am sure CoH: OF is going to be an excellent game as its first.
i have to say that so far it is supreme commander. it is the forst time that a game has actually given some importance to the S in RTS and it is not all about who can click the fastest. the entire scale of the games blows other rts' right out. and watching experimental units chomp around...ahh that is a pleasure in itself. of course the system requirements are high and it has a very long build up time but one game of sup com is very satsfying.

but i would also like to put in a good word for CnC 3. although it does not suite my kind of rts games it found the story line to be fun and engaging even though it really lacked in the strategy bit, as i found that putting some missile launchers in an APC is very effective and i basically went through the story mode with that and won a couple of online games too.
