I just got a LinkSys 4-port plus wireless router for 50 bucks. You really dont need to spend 150, they all are pretty much the same. Its not like they cripple your bandwidth or anything.

And theyre very easy to setup. Just plug the modem into router, then plug your pcs into the router. If doing wireless, there is a CD to help setup for you. I dont recommend wireless, however: first, it will flake out on you and second, people will leach your internet. Hell, I did that for half a year back at college since I couldnt afford internet.

Or you can get a great router with faster processing, more ram and gigaports. This will allow it to handle network traffic much better.
