Its pretty self-explanantory, what's a stellar PC game that you think is under appreciated and that everyone should play. For me, it has to be The Longest Journey by Funcom (Demo on Steam for those who want to try it). It was the first video game with a very strong female lead and to this date, one of the best stories in video game history.

Probably Cryostasis.

Had a great story and atmosphere. Terrible performance issues though.

Heaps of people played The Longest Journey. It's definitely underappreciated, but it's hardly unknown. :P

I'd go with something like The Neverhood Chronicles - one of my favourite adventure games as a kid, and one of the most stylish games in the genre.

I love Cryostasis, even with performance issues.

I'll have to say Silent Hunter 4.

I love Lands of Lore 2: Guardians of Destiny... Don't know how unknown it is. But it had a terrific story and was able to create an incredible atmosphere that I remember to this day 10+ years later.

I want to try these Lands of Lore games now; I like old school dungeon crawling RPGs (If that's what they are).

I always wanted to buy Advent Rising but never did, how is it in terms of gameplay and story? Might actually get it now since its rather cheap on Good Old Games.

Some say it's not that great, but I dunno personally I loved both the gameplay and story, it's a little weird at first (getting the widescreen fix will make it better, but it takes a little to get used to it). Story is pretty interesting and the gameplay is great, kinda like MDK combined with Tron and a little Mass Effect, the only bad thing I can personally say about it is that it ends, they wanted to make a trilogy out of it, but it wasn't popular and they never continued to story.

A very interesting article for Cryostasis fans (in Russian, Google translate it)

The people in charge of Cryostasis are now making iOS games like Carnivores (a port of the PC game actually). They're successful and opened a second studio in southern Ukraine. The main studio is dormant. That article talks about the making of Cryostasis, the company's history and about making games in the former USSR.

WOOP for the OP. Great thread idea!

I'll have to go with World of Warcraft... uhhh no.....

Seriously though I'll go with either Throne of Darkness or, well I would say Divine Divinity but I imagine that actually has quite a cult following.... so Throne of Darkness.

I Highly recommend playing this amazing game, but at the same time I recommend you don't because you'll be sadden at the fact that a second game will never happen...

Krayzie_3334
I COMPLETELY AGREE. The game was SO cool. It was an RTS with huge amounts of detail. Any space RTS fan should play it. I felt like I was controlling real starships. I mean routing power from weapons to shields? How freakin cool is that? Or powering down secondary engines to add more power to shield disrupters...omg...I wanna get that game again.

Sadly it's not gonna happen, unless some big company gets interested in funding it, they won't get so much money from fans and random people.

+1 for Advent Rising. Good story and nice gameplay. Probably the most memorable gaming experience I've had so far. Oh and the music, the music... That must be why I remember the game as a great experience. It's always the music that does it to me, in movies as well.

Gahhh, doesnt X3 TC have a huge learning curve? I just got a nice trial for EVE online and I know thats going to be a pain in the rear to learn...Id get TC but I always back out cuz I hear something bad about it or because it wouldnt be what Id like it to me - thinking back to my memories of Nexus: tJI. I also know that warping in TC is kind of...lame. I dont like...looooading into a new place. In EVE online warping is so sick.
