I do believe a 5770 will play quite nicely. It should have about 10-20 watts lower power consumption at full load compared to your 9100 but it will still smoke your old card like there's no tomorrow.

I don't think a 300W can support a 5770. On my 300W Rig(lol) I have a GT 240 which is about on par with a 9600GT and I can run all the games I wish without any problems.

Post where you found THAT out... I dont see how an integrated card can use more power With 300 watts, I dont really see anything you can upgrade to safely. 5770 uses about 284 watts at load, and thats just the gpu.

Oh it can. My old rig where the new PSU literally exploded (never buy Chieftec) I had to put my old 300w in until the new one arrived and it powered my 8800GTX (which uses more power than 5770) just fine. The reason why I'm asking for the brand is that if he's got a crummy no-name PSU with low amps, it might not be enough.

Try asking this in the PC Hardware forum. You may get more techy-side people looking at it :)

I bet you googled that... Christ.. It ranges from 108-112 at full load in furmark which stress the gpu far more than you'll ever see in a game. It uses 18 watts when idle.

But it also requires a 6pin power connector that i think his 300W PSU won't have.

You'll get an adapter which plugs into 2 molex connectors with your card. However his PSU only has 12 amps on the 12v rail and that seems a tad low .. Pretty sure the recommended amp amount for a 5770 is 40 but it can get lower depending on other hardware .. Yeah so shop for another psu as well.
