yeah, they aren't coming out with anymore PCI interface cards, the ATI Radeon 9550 PCI might also be decent.

The best 256MB PCI video card I could find on Newegg was a Nvidia FX5500. The only other tow besides that one I could find there was a Nvidia FX5200 and a Radeon 9250.
Here's the link to the FX5500: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143032

I know that there is an AGP 256MB 9550 but I'm not sure about the PCI, you really don't need extra memory with a PCI card. Personally, I wouldn't get a graphics card, I would just get a new mobo with a PCI-E slot.

Well, since it is the best 256MB PCi video card I could find, I guess I would recommend it even though my knowledge about video cards isn't that great.

Yes, Any PCI card you get will perform very, very poorly. Get a better mobo and get an AGP card

For that PC setup, you shouldn't even think about upgrading it. Get a whole new computer. That computer isn't worth upgrading. Unless you're willing to swap out the motherboard for another skt 478 motherboard and get a new AGP card then I suggest you do so.

ok first of all your computer will NEVER run Halo PC because it's a GPU hungry game but for the other im preety sure you could run rs3 ,and sp 1 and 2. with low settings you will not play any games at "full potential" because your computer is extremely old and doesent support AGP...... i think this is the definition of your computer

Not yet - what slot do you have available for your video card, and what sort of power supply do you have? The 6600GT isn't a bad card, but you might be able to get a better one for your money.

If u want a Graphics Card, why go for the older GeForce 6600, when you have the latest GeForce8800 in market. But the 8800 will surely be costly. U could settle for a 8600 256MB or if u find this still too costly U could go for somethin like the GeForce7200 or 7300.
