Hey guys ive been looking for a motherboard to run the new intel i7 3770k. I'm just not sure which motherboard is better than any other. I like ASUS as a brand but they have like 50 different models. So far i've been looking at the Sabertooth and the Rampage but there are like 6 different kinds of each of these as well lol. So what im looking for is the ability to run the new chipset, blutooth connect, wifi, digital sound 5.1 - 7.1 out, SATA, crossfire capability for gpu. i would like to stay under 300 so let me know what u guys think. like i said i have no idea whats good about these different mobos, they all look the same to me.

I'm in the same boat as you. I've bee researching for over 3 weeks on what motherboard to get.

It's really confusing with the choices there is, but I think I narrowed it down to two:

The Asus Sabertooth Z77, and the Asus Maximus Gene V, but I'm still not sure lol.

There's not much comparisons since the new chip-set came out recently.

Let me know what you decide on.

It looks to me like choosing something like the maximus v gene is going to provide me with a better sound card but not as much functionality as if i was to go with the

ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Im still really unsure of which board to purchase.

I just ordered this one.

This seems to be the best sub $200 board out there.

Sub $200:

MSI Z77A-GD55 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS ($150)

GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ($190)

Above $200:

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ($240)

ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ($275)

You can't go wrong with any of these. Just read the reviews, see the pros and cons of each, and pick which has the best features you need.

Asus and ASRock are rolling right now. You can't go wrong with either, as long as it's got the features you want.

I'm having a really hard time imagining spending $180-200 on a motherboard. For that price it had better do my laundry. I spent $60 on my mobo 2 years ago and it's still going strong, with all the features and expansion I need. I think my upward limit would be about $120.

For what it does along with it's price it easily wins. I wouldn't mind having that though I won't upgrade my mobo for a long while anyways.

My friend just built his first rig with that mobo; got it when it was on sale. It is indeed fantastic.
