I currently run a 970 Strix and it's awesome. It still runs most title on ultra at 60fps but only at 1080p. I really want to jump into 4K gaming and the 1080ti is more than enough to dip my toes in it. However there are so many custom card out there and I don't know what to choose. I was planning on getting the OG FE based on looks but people are saying it'll be louder and run hotter. The Strix brand from Asus is pretty good as my current card is very quiet and I haven't really ran into any issue since I got it in 2013.

Which is the best 1080ti available? I prefer EVGA for the CS support but if there's better option. ( ***** saved me a lot of headache during my PC build)

@Legend002: Honestly, they are all pretty good and will OC about the same. I have the Gigabyte 1080 Ti Aorus Xtreme. It is quiet and has 3 HDMI ports. It is a mammoth card though. Just go for the best deal.

@Legend002: I have two Strix and both have been good. The software they come with is great too. Easy overclocking, fan curve settings, and LED ect.

I'm not 100% convinced with 4K just yet 2K is fine with my GTX970. It's not worth upgrading imo.

@Legend002: Moved to Hardware forum

Saw reviews lately of 1080Ti, best currently card is by EVGA ICX, it even surpassed MSI Gaming X which is an achievement right there.

Strix and G1 are good as well if you're into OC.

Well the best would arguably a card with a binned (tested for max OC headroom) GPU.... I'd probably want to water-cool it though to get the most out of it without a lot of fan noise.

Gigabyte makes good cards and coolers if you're looking for a more standard solution.

Asus, Gigabyte, MSi or Zotac.

Zotac AMP Extreme cards always sit close to, if not a the top of benchmark tables but they are huge 3 slot monsters. My Zotac 980Ti AMP Extreme had 33% overclock out the box and still had some headroom for more.

I've been using the Zotac AMP Extreme editions the past 2 gens (980ti and now 1080ti); they benchmark like a champ. I was just waiting for the 1080ti variant to be released before making the splash from the 980ti, which in itself is still killing games. I'm just a sucker for the best of the best (excluding Titan X). The 1080ti was just such a huge leap in performance to not get.

I have the evga hybrid. It runs cool as could be (60c MAX, and I live in a super hot desert...80+f in my house during summer) but other than that the pcb and such is almost reference. The cooler plate extends to the memory modules as well. With my 2 noctua industrial fans in push/pull...it makes no more noise than my whole pc (actually, all fans run at 1200rpm static, which moves more than enough air).

Some of the higher end air coolers use custom pcbs and such, but it seems more a luck of the draw in regards to max clocks you might get; cooler and pcb don't seem to have a huge effect after a point.
