I'm going to the store today to get a new game and was wondering which one I should get. Looking for some opinions on what game you guys like better and why.
as someone has said b4 it depends what weapons u would like to play with. BF2 has been patched so many times and it is a fairly old, but good game. I think 2142 has potential and is the better choice as long as EA doesnt mess it up with more patches:wink:
i'm more addicted to 2142. though both games a pretty cheap now. well, unless you get BF2 Deluxe Edition. If you plan on getting BF2, get Deluxe Edition. comes with Special Forces expansion, which grants you new weapons to use in regular BF2
I would get BF2142 mainly because BF2 is a bit old now. BF2142 is better compared with BF2. I've ranked up a lot in both so I would know... If you want BF2, you should get the booster packs. If you want BF2142 wait for the Northern Strike too.
Special Force is a NO. It's not like special forces at all becauase of the way they play. It is still the same thing just with night vision, some different weapons, and a few special items(flashbangs, graple, crossbow, etc.)
I actually prefer the gameplay in SF due to the grappling hook & crossbow. It allows you access to any ledge or rooftop, where in BF2 you can only access specific ones with ladders. It really opens the gameplay, especially when you get on a good squad. Plus SF has some great maps like Ghost Town and Sharqi Penninsula which always get heated.
Also you get twice the unlocks, and they work in regular BF2 which can give you an edge.
I'd say if your starting get the bf2 SF, main reason is its got jets, thats what does it for me, in 2142 it only has helos, but I have yet to experience 2142 in full glory due to a crappy gpu, so if your system is good I say go with what suits you best, modern of futuristic.
