Battlefield 1943 PC pointless?

Is any1 actually going to buy Battlefield 1943? The fact that its been delayed so long i don't think there's even a date for 2010 yet. And yet Battlefield Bad Company 2 is coming out March of 2010.

When is it releasing?

It is pointless. PC has Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield Heroes. There's absolutely no need for a new one that isn't even a complete game. Also, as you said there's Bad Company 2.Mochyc

Modern Warfare 2 will make 1943 obsolete.

Two different games with different time periods and weapons, I know, but the former is packed with more features, carries much more hype behind it, and simply knocks away any possible reason you would even want to play 1943 other than for the nostalgia factor (via 1942 maps).

I personally say skip it and just wait for bf3. Theres a good chance the maps will be in bf3 anyways and you can always just play bf1942 if you want a ww2 settings. Now if bf1943 included everything that was in bf1942 plus upgraded graphics then I would say this is a day 1 purchase.

Not actually my words, but my exact thoughts

Words can not express how disappointed I am with DICE. Battlefield 2 was one of the most popular online FPS games of its time. So instead of releasing the highly anticipated Battlefield 3, complete with that same Battlefield style of semi-realistic, team based action, they release a myriad of spinoffs that don't live up to the original series.

Battlefield: Bad Company is pretty awful in it's own right. Takes everything I love in the BF series and turns it into a Call of Duty 4 wannabe with very little semblance of what the BF series once was.

Then you have Battlefield Heroes, a game that I'm actually a beta tester of. While it's a fun departure from the series, it is not a replacement for Battlefield 2 or any of the other BF games in the main series.

Now you have this game, which looks even worse than Bad Company. From what I've read about the game and seen in the previews, it looks like a less tactical version of CoD World at War, which is saying a lot.

Currently BF2/BF2142 has a few thousand servers running, with both having a pretty damn good population of 64-man Ranked servers. I guarantee that once Bad Company 2 is released, that Bad Company 1 will have less players than either one of these games, if it does not already.

Anyways, yeah TLR and all that, but I just wanted to see whatever else felt about this game and the way DICE has been going with the series.

cause im thinking of buying bad company 2 and if bf3 comes out not too long after that, kind of stupid

I'll just play 1942 and not the consolized bastardization.
