Final Fantasy VII is a good game, but incredibly overrated. Most characters are dull, plot becomes stupid halfway through the game and the gameplay is nothing special. Baldur's Gate 2 is better in every single way. It's a shame FFVII gets so much undeserved attention.

Because technically according to the GS forum rules, this sort of stuff belongs in system wars. Yeah I'm aware that FF7 actually came out on PC eventually, but I think everybody considers it a console game.

Very true. Of course PC Gamers would vote for BG 2. FF VII only gained popularity on PSOne but not on PC. You should try posting this on General Games Discussion or System Wars. That's where we get good results. As for the vote, I really liked both games but my vote goes to FF VII. :)
