I don't use theWASD format, but rather QWESkeys.
q = left
w = forward
e = right
s = down
Seems most people use WASD, but my fingers are closer to hitting the numbers with the QWES setup.

WASD has the same "shape" as arrow key which is why they were made the standard, having the left and right keys next to the forward key would be confusing for somepeople.
Personally I'm juststubbon, been using arrow keys since 1990and won't change.I use Cntl, shift, enter, del, end, Page Down 7,4,1 and 0 (insert) for my control keys. for some games I use even more of the Keypad and ofcourse my extra mouse buttons.
I'm a WASD user myself. I've tried the QWES layout a few times, but never really liked the feel of it.
I guess I could edit the keys to where it would be more logical to the form of my hand, but when using the QWES style, I was still having to stretch to press the spacebar to jump and CTRL to crouch and what have you. It just didn't seem to be the way for me.
