The prices keep dropping and dropping which makes me think they could possibly be getting ready to change.

Maybe making USB 3.0 and SSD's standard? Or a change in something else..

> Just wondering because I want a new computer, but I'm not sure if I should hold off for a while.

ssd's are still too expensive per GB to replace standard hard drives any time in the near future. so, i wouldn't count on that. 2 weeks ago i would have said to wait for bulldozer but that flopped. so now im saying wait for ivybridge lol.

Intel has said Ivy Bridge is already in production. It will most likely be out by spring of 2012. Ivy Bridge is one of the new Intel cpu's that will essentially replace Sandy Bridge. Its main feature is that it will be a die shrink to 22nm. Sandy Bridge-E is close to release and it will replace Intel's first gen i7 cpu's (i7 9xx/nehalem) as their new enthusiast line up.

No it isnt, it is a 22nm refresh of Sandy Bridge with tri-gate transistors and a new GPU architecture that supports DX11. Early reports say it uses about 40% less power than SB, 20% more CPU performance and twice the on-board GPU performance.
