So I've heard that a certain version of AIM installs some sort of thing that disables certain Source Codes on the computer. Is this true? I'm building a new computer soon and I don't want to install AIM if it could hurt my gaming preformance. Thanks:)

I heard a while back that it doesn't let you play certain source games (such as Team Fortress) because it installed something that blocked modifed source games, can anyone verify this?
