Im thinking about switching to Laptop Gaming just because its all more compact, and you can go anywhere with it but still have amazing graphics. I was thinking about spending $1,500 on a gaming laptop so i could watch/download movies, play RTS and RPG games, Internet, Word docs etc. Opinions please?

You could buy a mac for that much money..

Or since you like gaming pcs ill suggest some good retailers for that much

HP has good stable computers that last long.

AlienWare has great gaming computers!

Dell-No do not buy from them they have non-stable computers

You might also have to find a cheap computer because if you want extras ull need alot more $

Bestbuy-they charge alot of money and they just use dell and apple for their computers

You could also build your own computer

Or hire some one too

Try to find a local computer shop they can probley build what you want

...Or you coul just throw your money into a river. Same concept. ^_^

Personally, I've always liked the Dell XPS laptops over Alienware laptops.

I have two high-end Laptops which I also use for playing games and they are great. However, if you play games on them too much (24/7) then the fans will go extremely hot and overheat.

I game on my laptop and while I know it can't compare to a desktop in terms of raw power, I love being able to take it anywhere. Plus (since it's a 17" laptop) I'm building up my arm strength ;)

Of all those tasks, the highest is gaming. If you laptop can handle that it can handle anything.

Whatever u get, make sure it has at least an 8600mGT, not the 8600mGS cause the GS is only an overclocked 8400. The GT on the other hand can be overclocked to match an 8700 with relative ease using only software!

Yeah, I wouldn't buy a mac for gaming. I love them and I don't think it's throwing away money. No, I am not a fanboy because I own a Vista gaming rig and another XP laptop. Do not game a on a MacBook Pro through BootCamp. The system is not meant for that wear. Trust me! The MacBook got hot enough to fry an egg when I boot into XP or Vista to play Fable: The Lost Chapters, Oblivion or Age of Conan. It was the left top corner of it too wear the fan is.

I'd buy an Alienware Latop if you really want to game on an Laptop. I'd reccommend desktop gaming due to better air flow.

http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668034.php is a decent gaming laptop. 8800m GTS, T8300, 320GB hdd. I was considering it, but went with the alienware M15x instead. If you want a decent gaming laptop, you're gonna have to spend at least $2000.

Also, the 8600m GT won't play many games at all. It's basically equal to an 8500 desktop gpu.

Wait for the 9000m series cards to become common in machines. The 8600GT is sort of weak and its all ull get at your price range.
