Any way to shut off vertex shading and pixel shading in games?

I really want to get oblivion, but I fail thanks to my weird graphics card.

It can handle almost everything, but for whatever reason it has absolutely NO vertex shading and pixel shading capabilities WHATSOEVER, causing me to fail the system requirements.

Anyone have a way of getting around this? I would buy a new graphics card, but I am a poor bastard so that is out of the question.....

Theres no guarantee but this might work. Enable in the Hardware Limits for Pixel/Vertex shader caps (short for capabilities). Then hit Select, look for the Oblivion.exe, and then hit Run.

If you video card can't even handle TnL, then I wouldn't bother trying to run Oblivion. It will eat your card alive.

...which happens to be the thing every single modern game relies on.

Here's a similar case: You have a great-looking car with a seriously powerful engine. It's even got all four wheels, but no tires. Good luck trying to drive!
