Well, It's been 12 months since the release of the GTX 680. Are there any new rumors regarding the GTX 700 series and the release date?

I'm kinda scared that Nvidia prolongated the release of next-gen cards with the Titan. Well, I just hope that the lifespan of current-gen isn't 2 years like last time.

Same thing goes for the HD8000 series...even less rumors about them.

I don't think any next gen cards will be releasing in 2013 from either amd or nvidia well excluding titan. I just went ahead and bought a 7950 to replace my 5770 since it came with 2 free games don't feel like waiting another year.

I sure hope they won't launch any next-gen cards this year. The Titan was just released! Is the Titan even a 600-series card or some unique stand-alone?

It's a GTX Titan...they probably wanted to create a special edition card or something? Well, they did it.

Yeah, I'm not expecting anything until 2014. Probably mid 2014.

There's no real reason to. Current gen cards run any current game out there at 60 FPS 1080p or higher. Even next gen games, which won't come out until end fo this year, early next, won't trouble mid range cards. So there's no real market. They're going to wait until they cna squeeze out performance in places where next games demand it more (probably in the compute department), so they can say card XXX plays XXX game at 2560x1440 at 60 FPS!

I remember that HD8000 were rumored to be released in the third quarter of this year. I think it was with the news of the OEM HD8000 series release.

It is what should have been the 680, but the GK104 chip gave good enough results be given that title in regards to the competition.

AMD plans to release it's first GCN 2.0 based SKU as Radeon HD 7790.

AMD and NVIDIA could be sync'ing their next-gen flagship GPUs with GDDR6. http://vr-zone.com/articles/gddr6-memory-coming-in-2014/16359.html

Speaking of which, when will they go from DDR3 to DDR4 on regular RAM?

Most likely to release a kepler refresh (700 series) after March. Than in 2014, maxwell (800 series) The Titan is a one off card, don't be swayed by it.

Late March - April we will hear something, trust me.

the 8000 series doesn't sound like it will release till earliest 4Q 2013.  Nividia won't release a new series unless AMD does, their is no point for them, they can just sit on their current lineup and maximize profits.

Its all about timing and strategy.  Both companies need to release their cards during the same window to be competitive.  Since AMD already announced they won't be releasing the 8000 series till maybe even 2014 then we might be waiting for a while.  Not to mention prior to the release of a new series, there is SOME sort of leak from a website or news but that hasn't happened yet, its been dead  silent for the past couple of months.

Nvidia is also in a good position, they have 65%-70% of the discrete video card market share (it used to be split 55/45) but AMD has been overall incompetent.  Their marketting seriously blows, and the only way I can see them being viable is if they sold the company.  They would probably be purchased by a foreign company in a blink of an eye if the US didn't have "national security" concerns and prevent the sale.

I heard that it will be somewhere in 2014 to see the new GTX 700 series.

The 600 series runs today's games well anyway, no point in itching yourself to see new affordable cards.

I need to see atleast a 50% improvement accross the high end tier to even consider upgrading. My guess is that Nvidia will move away from the current architecture a bit and put compute power as priority, as AMD has done.

If I remember correctly, OEM's will use all of 2013 to mass produce DDR4 modules and test compatibilities for a 2014 launch. Mid I think.

According to JEDEC, DDR4 and GDDR5M would be sharing the same SODIMM format.

AMD Kaveri APU includes GDDR5 memory controllers.

Ok. Then I expect them to be out when I upgrade my CPU(which includes mobo and ram) which won' be anytime soon. Unless the 3570K becomes obsolete within 2014.
