Is this CPu good for gaming? No graphics card yet but i will pick a decent card up only if i know i wont get bottle necked with the processor.

I was under the impression that the phenom II 8xx series were actually pretty similar to Athlon IIs in that they lack L3 cache, which makes a difference in some games but not others.

its an  Athlon II rebranded as Phenom II lacking L3 cache but with decent clocks i suppose but you are better off with Phenom II's as this one is not good enough.

all depends what your price and budget is. The cpu is good enough for gaming but not high end gaming.

I wouldnt go with an Phenom II CPU now since I think they will struggle with newer games. If you really have a tight budget, maybe go for the AMD Piledriver CPUs?

If you're going phenom quad look at the 955/965 etc, not the 800 ones
