I can't imagine so. Considering you can still play games with cards that came out during the DX9 days. If so, my investment in 2 4890s will be utter trash and I will cry a little inside.
DX11 cards should be out before the end of the year but i wouldnt worry about DX11 becoming minimum. DX10 still is hardly used and game companies are about making as much money as possible so they wouldnt make a game that only 3% of computers could even run. If you have a friend that could use it then you could sell it to him for somewhat cheap but online i dont know how much you would get. Its not the best card out there and people dont usually like used computer parts too much especially from strangers.Kurushioya, you get alot of horror stories there.
That is because DX10 is harder to dev with then DX9 at least if you are making your whole engine based off of it, which is why DX11 is coming out sooner. To makes this fact even more apparent, iD Tech 5 being used in Rage and Doom 4(makes Crysis look nasty) will be using DX9.
No, because you will be running your game on DX10 which your card is made for. Unless Crysis and Rage quality looks like garbage to you and those are DX9.
I havent even seen what those games look like yet, but Im a sucker for any doom game. That is because DX10 is harder to dev with then DX9 at least if you are making your whole engine based off of it, which is why DX11 is coming out sooner. There is nothing that is DX11 based right now and your card can't even run DX11 so I have no idea what your talking. No it will not take 5 years, lmao the reason devs didn't take advantage of DX10 is because Vista sucked and DX10s major gains is more trouble then it's worth.

However it is being used more or less in compatibility mode. As no GPU can handle DX11.
Like I said, your GFX card is not DX11, so your not going to run anything DX11. All those people with DX9 cards on Vista aren't running DX10, don't argue if you don't know.
Like I said, your GFX card is not DX11, so your not going to run anything DX11.ryokinshin6x3OK, I think I understand what you're trying to say. To be clear, I'm running dx11 just fine. My card, however, is not rendering in dx11. Drawing compatibility assumptions, however, seems rather irrational considering there isn't any dx11 content. As of now, Intel is pissed because their low-end integrated cards will be unable to handle dx11. Intel has no right to be pissed because there GPUs are BS. And yes, you're not even using DX11-only stuff yet. We'll have to wait and see what this thing can pull off. Crysis 3?

They are coming out with their own pcie cards later this year, they bought a whole game and engine studio to help optimize. ryokinshin6x3You've yet to give a single reference. Who's coming out with their own pci-e cards?

Do the words reply not mean anything anymore? Yes Intel and it's called Larrabee, they bought the Project Offset studio.
Um, no. Quoting is your friend.....Do the words reply not mean anything anymore? Yes Intel and it's called Larrabee, they bought the Project Offset studio.

The larrabee has been proclaimed pretty powerful. Equal to a GTX 285... http://alienbabeltech.com/main/?p=7747
I don't expect it to be that good.
